Bible Bee Practice 3 & CLEP test

We had our last practice bible bee meet this morning. Both I and my siblings took first place in all of the competitions today. :)
Official one next week! Everyone is rushing to get in lots of study time for the last week.

I took my first CLEP test on Aug 12 - Analyzing and Interpreting Literature - I scored over 70! Over 60 is a passing grade. My test proctor said that I did better than most of the college students that take it. :) I have now started studying for my next test - American Government.

But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all thy works. Psalm 73:28

1st Practice Bible Bee

Yesterday morning we had our first Bible Bee practice meet.
It seemed like it went really well. Only four of the seniors (my age group) came, but there were six primaries, and I think ten juniors. It was about half of the families in our local group.
Alyssa, Isaiah and I all won first place in our age groups. :D
Hopefully we'll continue to do well... :)

Learning

Alyssa and I went to an awesome self-defence course this morning. I feel much more confident in my ability to defend myself now. Alyssa really liked one of the moves. It's just like a dance step she does. :)
Still working on learning bible verses. Slow and steady wins the race! (i hope :) )
I better go pack for our camping trip. It's just over the weekend, but in this family, it doesn't make a difference in the packing list. ;)

Bible Bee

Had a great time last night, we had our first Bible Bee meet. About half of the people in our group came. We all hung out for a while and got to know each other. Some of my age group started playing a game. Something about "kung fu" I think. I had never heard of it so just watched for a while. After I joined in I actually won once. :)
Working on learning some of the bible verses. I've almost gotten Genesis 6:5 down.
"And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually."
With things being that bad, it's no wonder God destroyed the earth!
Well, back to work.

My Morning

Nana and I gave two dogs hair cuts today. They looked so cute after we finished. :)
I practiced swimming underwater for a while. Dad came out and swam with all the kids a little bit. Afterwards I swam 100 laps! (2,300 ft) I am exhausted!
Working on writing out my thoughts on "A Life God Rewards".

Family Fun!

Having an awesome time visiting with Nana and Papa!
We've all gone swimming lots, Nana and I gave a few dogs baths, and last night we stayed up late playing Ligretto and laughing. Laughter is good medicine. :D
Today I swam 1600 feet without touching the bottom of the pool. (50 laps) I was soooo tired! All of us kids have gotten sunburns. :(
Lyss and I got to go over to one of Nana’s friend’s house this afternoon and help groom some of their horses. We’re planning on going riding this weekend, but it’s not set in stone. I hope it works out.
Dad arrived safely this evening, bringing the rest of our clothes for the week and all our random stuff. :)
I’ve started looking through some of my CollegePlus! materials. I really enjoyed reading “A Life God Rewards” by Bruce Wilkinson. (I’m planning on writing something about that book later)
Well, I think that’s everything!
Adios!

Fun Zone

Had an awesome time today. :) We had a home school meeting at a bouncy house this afternoon. It was sooo fun! Elijah got a couple minor injuries, but he's fine now. We left at about 3:15 and the Guills came over to our house to see the puppies. :D
Well, Mom and Dad are headed out for a date. Guess I have to go take care of the kids. Later,

Sunday School May 16th

Last sunday my sunday school teacher was back and we were continuing in Hebrews. We did Hebrews 13:1-3. Verse 1 is my favorite, "Let brotherly love continue."
We all need to love each other, pray for each other, and encourage one another.
Casting Crowns said it well in "Love them like Jesus".

Monday :(

I'll start out with a question. Do Mondays ever go well?!?
This morning Mom was really tired, so she went back to bed and slept till lunchtime, ate a little, then went back to sleep.
Lyss and I cleaned up most of the house, the boys helped out a little.
My lil' Jasmine is doing pretty well in the house. She just needs to learn not to chew on stuff!
I hope Mom feels better tomorrow, I'm stressed with just one day!
I need to get some sleep. Nite,

Sunday School & Church

My Sunday school class had a substitute teacher this Sunday. I really enjoyed it. He taught on Psalm 86. The whole psalm is one of David's prayers. Much of it is given completely to praise. One of the verses that caught my attention was 11, "Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name." We need to have an undivided heart before God.
Another verse was 15, "But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, long suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth." God is full of compassion! Sometimes it seems like God doesn't really care what happens, but He knows even how many hairs are on your head! He knows when a sparrow falls to the ground, are not we of more value than a sparrow? To God, the answer is definitely yes. (Matt 10:29-31 / Luke 12:6-7)

After class I got to talk to two girls from my class. I told them about everything going on with the baby, and my struggles without friends nearby, and they prayed with me. I really needed that, I'm so glad God led me to talk to them.

This was the third week that the pastor was speaking on Sabbath keeping. He said a lot of stuff about it, but in the end he said that everyone should keep to their own convictions about it, and not judge other people when their convictions differ. (Col 2:16-17)

Saturday, May 8th 2010

Lazy day so far. Mom and Dad took the two youngest boys to costco with them, where they're meeting Nana and Papa to give Juliet back. :( I wish we could've kept her, but she wouldn't have done well as a house dog. Well, I guess I should go give Jasmine a bath. Till later, ~E

Friday, May 7th, 2010

Well, this morning wasn't the best, but I had an awesome time this afternoon. Our friends, the Guills, came over to visit. After lunch, all the kids went up to the pool and swam for a couple hours, then we hung out and played apples to apples for a while. (i won :) ) We all had a lot of fun. :D
